MK26 Powered Wheel Kit for the Octbox Seat Box (Available from Oct 26)

The MK26 Powered System is designed to be fitted to any Octbox seatbox D25 or D36 that has a footplate. It takes seconds to convert the seatbox into a full powered barrow. It is ideal for anglers short on space as it breaks down quickly and easily to pack away into the boot of a car next to the seatbox. Alternatively for anglers with a van you can leave fully loaded.

The power system has had a number of upgrades that have been introduced. The introduction of wider pneumatic wheels with steel core differentials give much greater traction, allowing the full torque of the 200w 30amp 12V motor to be used without wheels slipping. The extra width also makes the barrow much more effective in the winter when travelling over really soft muddy ground or gravel traps by preventing it from sinking into the mud . The MK25 model that this replaces used hard non pneumatic tyres which in certain conditions, particularly on hard stoney tracks, created a lot of vibration. The greater cushioning of the pneumatic wheels reduces vibration while cushioning the impact from hard ground to give a much smoother travel across the ground. These wheels have a quick release button to remove if you need to pack the power unit in a small space.

The second major upgrade over the MK25 system is an increased torque of 20% to make getting up steep hills and banks even easier.

The control box that manages the distribution of power has had a massive upgrade and is now much more robust and fitted with a 35amp car fuse to protect the circuits even more. We now also hold all the relays and parts to repair this control box in house should a repair be required.

The battery supplied with the MK26 power wheel kit has had a massive upgrade and capacity has been increased by 100%. The battery pack is fitted with a USB port and also supplied with a cable and socket compatible with coolboxes and baitfridges fitted with a 12v cigarette style plug. This means on those hot summer days when your trying to keep drinks and bait cool you have the capability and capacity to use the battery with the barrow to get to your peg, and once there swap the cable over to power your coolbox / baitfridge for the duation of your 5 hour match and still have enough power to power your barrow back on the return journey. If just using the battery on a picnic, it will run a large coolbox in cool or hot mode for approx 8 hours.

Forward and Reverse is fitted into this barrow as per the MK25 model. In reverse you are in essence in free wheel neutral as the differentials will stop the wheels being powered in reverse. This is a safety feature as it would be dangerous to put have the same power pulling the barrow back towards you, particularly if you are next to the water.

Front power barrow frame and welding upgrade. We have strengthened the metal frame that slots into the seatbox footplate to ensure it can take the stress of moving loades across rough terrain without any risk of snapping or breaking.

Adaptive suspension – The octbox power barrow has a great suspension system which allows the left and right wheels to go up and down as they travel over rough ground to increase stability. this combined with a 800cm wheel track makes the barrow very stable even when it is moving across sloping ground. On sloping ground the wheel on the upper part of the slope will move upwards while the wheel on the downside will move down to help stabilise the barrow

The main attributes that place the barrow in a different league are

1.     Variable Chassis to set the load area and balance to match the load to be carried and length set to the van capacity

2.     Adaptive Suspension allows the left and right wheels to work up and down to give more stability on sloping ground as well the capability to move backwards and forwards under pressure to act as a buffer when the wheels hit obstacles such as rocks, ruts and potholes to help protect the chassis and reduce vibration.

3.     Wheels fitted with steel core differentials to make tight turns under power possible by allowing the inner wheel to travel at a slower speed.

4.     12V 24AH Lithium Powered Battery.   The battery can be left for months over the winter without charging without any damage being caused.  Fitted with a quick release connector.

5.     High ground clearance, essential in wet conditions when standing water needs to be crossed or during the summer when anglers may have to get through high undergrowth.

6.     High Torque very robust 200watt motor that generate 19 Newtons of force.   This is 20 percent more powerful than our 2025 model.   Since 2022 since it’s introduction we have not had a single motor fail.

7.     Quick release Powered wheels and collapsable and modular chassis allows the system to be packed into a very compact space when its necessary to pack into a car.

8.     New upgraded electronics and control system that gives the barrow a reverse capability and the capacity to manage the demands from motors up to 400 watt.  The system will not cut out when moving across difficult ground even.   A 35 amp car fuze gives additional protection.

9.     3 year warranty.   In the event the system has a fault in the first 12 months Octbox will either send out the replacement part or arrange for the barrow to be collected, repaired and returned free of charge, usually within 72 hours.  After 12 months for the remainder of the warranty Octbox charge a maximum fee of  £50 fee that will cover collection repair and return of the barrow.   The battery warranty is 3 years.

Complete System
Comprises of 2 modules that slot into sockets built into the front and rear of the Octbox Seatbox. The system has differentials built into the wheels to assist turning and is powered by a powerful 180watt motor with a low ratio worm gearbox.
It takes just over a minute to to covert the octbox to a powered large capacity wheel barrow.
